Invocation of the Muse (2nd C. AD)

Begins with Kithara.  It's very simple, with a haunting melody at times.  Monophonic introduction plays through the whole piece before the voice joins in.  Only two moments in which an interval is played harmonically in the Kithara part.  The voice doubles the instrument on the same melodic line.  It puts me into a contemplative mood, without even knowing the words or the meaning.  I would love to put my own words to this piece in english, but somehow it just doesn't seem like it would feel right.
